The Continental shows Mel Gibson as a villain

The Continental: From the World of John Wick has released a new set of stills for the John Wick prequel featuring Mel Gibson as crime lord Cormac.

The Continental: From the World of John Wick will feature a younger version of Winston Scott, played by Colin Woodel, in the film series, the manager of the Hotel Continental New York is played by Ian McShane.

The prequel will focus on John Wick’s friend and partner Winston in the early years of his career, detailing how he became manager of the Continental Hotel in the 1970s, which served as a haven for murderers.

The photo series also features Ayomide Adegun as Charon, a role previously played by the late Lance Reddick, who died shortly after the fourth John Wick film was released.

Charon in the series is depicted as an assistant to Cormac, a ruthless criminal kingpin. Cormac runs the Continental Hotel in New York and has close ties to Winston and Frankie Scoot, Winston’s older brother, played by Ben Robson.

When Frankie steals something of value from Cormac’s boss, he lures Winston back to the underworld. And through a series of events that occur at the end, the relationship between the two becomes tenuous.

Mel Gibson described Cormac himself as a complex character, a mentor to Winston and Charon and a father figure to both. But as time passes, both Charon and Winston realize who Cormac really is and set out for revenge.

The Continental: From the World of John Wick it also tells the state of the decaying city of New York. The rest of the cast includes Mishel Prada as KD, an NYPD detective, Jeremy Bobb as KD’s superior Mayhem.

There’s also Nhung Kate as Yen, the feisty wife of Frankie, Jessica Allain, and Hubert Point-Du Jour. Unfortunately, the John Wick spin-off set to air in September 2023 can only be viewed on the Peacock streaming channel.

Besides the continentalsanother John Wick spin-off to be released in June 2024, is Dancer played by Ana de Armas and also featured Lance Reddick for the last time as Charon. The film will be directed by Len Wiseman and will explore the events set in John Wick Chapter 3 and John Wick Chapter 4.
