Resident Evil: Island of Death will be set in 2015, just before advent Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (which is established in 2017).
The Indonesian big screen will receive the latest Resident Evil animated film, now subtitled Death Island.
Resident Evil: Island of Death is the latest animated action horror film in the same universe as the Resident Evil video game. This film is the fifth film in the Resident Evil animated series after Resident Evil: Vendetta which premiered in 2017 and is a miniseries Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness which will be released in 2021.
According to its developer, Capcom, Resident Evil: Island of Death will take place in 2015. In this way, it places this film after the fact resident Evil 6 (established in 2013) and Resident Evil: Vendetta (set in 2014), just before Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (which is established in 2017).

In San Francisco, Jill Valentine is dealing with a zombie outbreak and a new T-Virus, while DSO Agent Leon S. Kennedy is on a mission to rescue DARPA scientist Dr. Antonio Taylor from the hands of his captors, but the mission is thwarted when a mysterious woman thwarts their pursuit.
Meanwhile, Claire Redfield is investigating a horrible fish-killing whale in San Francisco Bay, where no cause can be identified. Later, Jill, Leon and Claire are joined by Chris Redfield and Rebecca Chambers, eventually discovering that the only thing the survivors have in common is that they all recently visited Alcatraz Island.

Following suit, Chris and the others head to the island, where a new horror awaits them, even worse than the last.
Before getting an air date, February 2, 2023, Resident Evil: Island of Death was announced by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, with IGN posting an exclusive trailer for the film and reporting that it will be released in mid-2023. Resident Evil: Island of Death It will be directed by Eiichirō Hasumi and written by Makoto Fukami. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will distribute the film worldwide, except in Japan.
The film will feature the voice of Kevin Dorman as Chris Redfield, Matthew Mercer as Leon S. Kennedy, Nicole Tompkins as Jill Valentine, Erin Cahill as Rebecca Chambers, Stephanie Panisello as Claire Redfield, and Salli Saffioti as Ingrid Hunnigan.
