Until now Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One has grossed over US$230 million worldwide and competes with Oppenheimer and Barbie.
This Tom Cruise action movie is truly extraordinary, both in the eyes of critics and the public who have seen it. What about box office receipts?
Paramount invests heavily in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Oneand the film is steadily making progress in recouping the production costs it has incurred.
After a week in theaters, the seventh film in the long-running action franchise has passed a major milestone at the global box office and is just days away from grossing the film’s reported $290 million production budget.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One it has generated US$91 million domestically and another US$168 million from overseas markets as its global revenue has reached US$259 million.

The film is looking to surpass the $100 million mark domestically before entering its second weekend, where there is no doubt that the film will receive some pressure from oppenheimer by Christopher Nolan, and Barbie by Greta Gerwig. The two new movies are highly anticipated and are set to gross at least $150 million combined over the weekend.
Mainly due to its enormous cost of production, Paramount spent millions of dollars more to market it around the world. Dead Reckoning’s strong opening results around the world were considered a bit disappointing.
To be clear, the film grossed over $230 million worldwide in its extended five-day debut, but its $78 million in the United States fell short of the projected $90 million for its debut weekend.
The film starring Tom Cruise, who still plays legendary spy Ethan Hunt, Dead Reckoning Part One wants to receive the highest-grossing film franchise title. The record is currently held by Mission: Impossible – Falloutwhich ended its global career with nearly $800 million in worldwide revenue in 2018.
Since then, Cruise has outdone himself last year Top Gun: Maverick eventually becoming the biggest film of his career, grossing over $1.4 billion worldwide, en route to a Best Picture nomination at the Oscars.

That said, even Maverick didn’t cost as much as Dead Reckoning Part One, especially since production ended before the pandemic hit, inflating costs across the industry. Like Dead Reckoning Part One, 2023 saw plenty of big-budget studio movies with mixed results at the box office.
Temporary guardians of the galaxy vol. 3 became a hit with nearly 850 million US dollars worldwide, movies like The flash, Transformers: Rise of BeastsAND Indiana Jones and the dial of fate everything is working wrong.
It’s too early to say how Dead Reckoning Part One will pan out in the long run, but the film’s strong critical and audience reception, combined with the fact that such widely recognized titles tend to have a strong foothold, bode well for its future.
