When the legendary director will meet Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, a couple often referred to as his favorite actor.
This film adapts the best-selling nonfiction novel of the same name by David Grann. Set in 1920s Oklahoma, Moonflower Killers follows the brutal extortion and eventual murder of the Osage Nation, during a period known as the “Reign of Terror.”
The new trailer for the film has now been released, giving viewers a glimpse of the highly-anticipated new project from the director.
In addition to DiCaprio and De Niro, other stars set to join are Lily Gladstone and Jesse Plemons. Lily Gladstone appears as Mollie Kyle, who has an unusual romance between her and DiCaprio’s character Ernest Burkhart.
The film, which focuses on the two’s romance, will serve as the basis for telling the true story of the Osage people; Just as the discovery of oil brought great wealth to nations, making them some of the richest people in the world seemingly overnight, it also brought people who would manipulate, extort, and steal whatever they could.
During a press conference for the film at the Cannes Film Festival, DiCaprio spoke about how the film seeks to highlight indigenous people and the way he and his team approached telling the story.
He revealed that Scorsese “is there every day, we talk to the community, we try to hear true stories and we try to get as much truth as possible. And no matter how anyone feels about the movie, I know that we all made it work. We did our best to honor those true stories and incorporate them.”

Killers of the Flower Moon has an extremely long duration.
The film will be released exclusively in theaters later this year alongside a digitally remastered release in IMAX, before coming to Apple TV+ at a later date.
