Peacock, an emerging streaming service, just announced the release date for its John Wick spinoff series “The Continental” at San Diego Comic-Con. The prequel series will premiere this fall.
To be exact, the series first episode of the show will be released on Friday, September 22, followed by the second episode which will air a week later i.e. on September 29. Then, the closing episode of “The Continental,” which is the third episode, will air on Friday, October 6.
Synopsis of The Continentals
In this series, we will witness the action of actor Colin Woodell, who will play the younger version of Ian McShane’s character, Winston Scott. “The Continental” will be set decades before the events of the John Wick movies. This story will explore the origins of the legendary hotel that housed assassins through the eyes of a young Winston Scott.
He will find himself involved in a dangerous situation in New York in the 1970s, and confronted with a past that seemed to have been abandoned. In his quest to seize control of the hotel, Winston must navigate an exciting underworld, in preparation for his own challenging future.
In addition to Colin Woodell, who will replace the role of Winston, the series will also feature Ayomide Adegun as Charon, a character previously played by the late Lance Reddick in the previous four John Wick movies. Other cast members who will also star in the series include Ben Robson as Frankie, Hubert Point-Du Jour as Miles, Jessica Allain as Lou and Mel Gibson as Cormac.
