Making a movie is not easy. A cross-divisional collaboration is needed to ensure filming runs smoothly. It usually takes one to two years to complete. But there are also movies that are made for more than two years. An example is movies. avatars, which apparently was made for over 10 years. Now oddly enough Geeks, in Hollywood there have been several movies made for several years, but until now the movies have never been completed for some reason. So what are the movies that were never finished? Check it out below!
world war z 2
World War Z was a well-received film by critics and the general public alike, grossing $540 million worldwide. Paramount is also reportedly working on a trilogy of films with JA Bayona set to direct the second film in December 2013, with the film scheduled for a June 9, 2017 release. However, Bayona left the project in 2016 and was replaced by David Fincher. Unexpectedly, Paramount withheld filming. A report says that Paramount is being careful when making zombie-themed movies, because China (which is the biggest market) forbids showing zombie movies. And recently, Marc Forster, who was a producer on the first movie, said that the World War Z 2 movie would not be finished any time soon.
sherlock holmes 3
Two Sherlock Holmes movies directed by Guy Ritchie were released in 2009 and 2011. Both movies were very successful, so it’s no surprise that Warner Bros. plans to make a third movie. However, the struggle to finish the script and the busy schedule of Robert Downey Jr., who starred in the MCU, caused the realization of Sherlock Holmes 3 to be hampered. Filming was supposed to begin on the third film, with Dexter Fletcher set to direct. but until 2019 the filming of the film had not begun. Despite the fact that the film had been announced to be released on December 22, 2021, Fletcher said that the pandemic had made filming difficult and that so far it has not proceeded.

Triplets is a comedy film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito. When it was released in 1988, the film grossed $216. And in 2012, Universal announced that they were making a sequel to the Triplets by adding new actor Eddie Murphy. The director of the first film, Ivan Reitman, has also been lined up to return as director. But so far, there has been no progress in the process of making the film. The script was rumored to be finalized in 2022 with shooting to begin in late 2022. But last February, Reitman died and Schwarzenegger confirmed that Reitman’s death had caused production on Triplets to halt, with the producers currently looking to replace Reitman.
District 10
Nobody would have thought beforehand that the District 9 movie would end with such a massive success. That’s why a sequel to District 9 was officially in development, and director Neill Blomkamp expressed his enthusiasm for District 10. But so far, we’ve yet to see District 10 come to fruition. Blomkamp may still be preoccupied with other projects. Although Blomkamp revealed in February 2021 that he had returned to work on the script, there has been no word on the project. Sharlto Copley said in August last year that Blomkamp would return after he finished filming Gran Turismo. Let’s hope, geeks, if after the release of Gran Turismo next month, Blomkamp will start producing District 10 or not.

Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle was one of the most successful movies of 2017. Although it went up against Star Wars: The Last Jedi, this movie managed to gross $962 million. Due to that success, several sequels to the film were made, including Jumanji 4, which Sony had planned. Even though the pandemic has passed, the Jumanji 4 movie has not been completed. Although the movie has been in development since 2019, the biggest problem he faced when making the Jumanji 4 movie was actually Dwayne Johnson’s busy schedule. He has been busy with movies like Jungle Cruise, Red Notice, DC League of Super Pets, Black Adam, Red One and many more. And it doesn’t look like Dwayne Johnson’s schedule is going to be empty anytime soon.

Although the release of Tron: Legacy wasn’t smooth sailing, Disney still plans to make a third Tron movie. As of April 2011, the script for Tron 3 is being written and director Joseph Kosinski is expected to return alongside stars Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Bruce Boxleitner and many more. Filming was planned to begin in 2014 before ultimately being pushed back a year. And then it was suspended by Disney in May 2015 for the failure of the movie Tomorrow. So far, we have yet to see Tron 3 released in theaters. But recently, new information emerged about the new cast involved, as well as the official title for Tron 3, Tron: Ares.

Upon its release in 2014, Edge Tomorrow received positive reviews, but failed to shine at the box office due to a lack of marketing. However, it was confirmed that a sequel to the film would be made with Doug Liman returning to direct in 2016, along with returning stars Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. The sequel to Edge Tomorrow is titled Live, Die, Repeat, Repeat. But after years of development, this movie was never finished. The problem of a tight schedule is the main obstacle. In January 2020, Liman confirmed that while the film was still in the planning stages, production would depend on Cruise and Blunt’s schedule.
Those are Geek, movies that have been in development for a long time but have not been completed to date. There is no word on exactly when the movie will be completed, and hopefully in the near future.
